First teaser trailer for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo hit theaters last week attached to X-Men: First Class.

Not much more than a month ago I finished reading the book that this movie is based upon and I must say that there are a lot of things in this trailer that make me happy. First I love the soundtrack – what an awesome choice right? Secondly I think that the characters look amazing – I know this teaser is just a sporaticly edited chop shop of scenes, but from how I pictured the characters to how they’re portrayed in the movie I think I’m going to be pleased.

Even though it’s a relatively short trailer clocking in just under two minutes, they seem to cram a lot of the key elements of the book into the movie. You’ve got the car crash, the chase in the forest, some of Salander’s dealings with her terrible guardian to her escapades as a hot blonde named Monica Sholes.

This trailer was one of my most anticipated trailers and I’m very impressed with how Rooney Morry looks as Lisbeth Salander.

The best part in this trailer is the way they flash the words “The Feel Bad Movie of Christmas” across the screen. If you’ve read the book you know this is certainly not a very Christmas themed story at all.

Take a couple minutes and watch the trailer below if you’ve yet to see it, it’s definitely worth the watch.

Have you read the book? Please feel free to share your thoughts on the trailer below in the comment section of this post.

Haven’t Heard of this story? Or haven’t had the chance to get out get a copy of it? Have no fear you can always buy the book or the swedish video and get in on the action before this film hits theaters this December. I’ve supplied convenient links to their respective locations on Amazon below! :)

I haven’t read the book or seen the original movie, but I think it’s extremely lame that Americans have to make a re-make of a film just because they don’t like reading subtitles and watching a movie in a foreign language. T__T I mean…why else would they do this?

    • Well, that is a very valid argument, but I’m sure it’s driven more by the greed for money then the laziness of americans not willing to read a subitltled movie. Usually if we american’s didn’t create something we’ll certainly make it again in and make lots of money from it. I am very excited to see the swedish version myself, I’m just debating whether I should wait and watch it after I see the american version or before… hmmmm

That is true. I would watch it before, if I were you.
Another example of this kind of situation (or even dumber) is ‘State Of Play’. I have the original British mini-series on DVD and short after I had watched it I saw a movie trailer that seemed a lot like the series. In fact, it was yet another re-make, only a film instead of a TV-series. So dumb…

        • Yeah I have it on my Netflix queue it’s just waiting to be pushed to the top. You’re the second person to tell me to watch the swedish version first as the American version probably will dumb down the story a little so we can eat our popcorn and enjoy it at the same time – HOWEVER – I really do like David Fincher as a director and HOPEFULLY he will come through with another excellent film. Only time will tell though.
